Experience
I am presently an undergraduate at the University of Kansas, pursuing a certification in teaching, specifically in the area of science. I am hoping to become a secondary science teacher. I am proficient in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Anatomy, Ecology, and a number of other subjects. While employed with the Kansas Algebra Program, I was in charge of organizing the curriculum, conducting lectures, teaching Math 101, managing all aspects of homework assignments, and implementing personal one-on-one discussions beyond the classroom. I also assemble a study group for Math classes, proctor tests, and appoint staff meetings when necessary. I have successfully taught and tutored two semesters at the collegiate level. I feel that all of these experiences, as well as my academic background, give me the tools I need to be a successful tutor.I am a firm believer that self-confidence and critical thinking result in effective problem solving for students. Moreover, I am passionate about assisting individuals in improving their educational studies and overall comprehension. Outside of school, I have worked as a research technician in wildlife management, as well as fought wildfires in the field of natural resources. For fun, I love experiencing the wilderness, exercising, and listening to music.
